Return to Takeuchi

As you read this blog post this morning I will be making my way to the spiritual home of Takeuchi in the UK, with a visit to the company’s headquarters in Rochdale for a much-anticipated look at the new TB2150R 15 tonne class fixed boom model.

Incredibly my last pilgrimage to Takeuchi’s modern facility in Rochdale was back in 2012, when I was invited along to take a look at the then brand new TB285 model, a cracking piece of kit which went on to gain some weight and morphed into the TB290 that is current in the range today. As a long term fan of the Takeuchi product both as an operator and owner, its always a delight to see the Japanese manufacturer is coming up with next and although there are a decent number of the new TB2150R’s already out there working in the UK, but I’m excited at the prospect of seeing my first one in the metal and gaining some stick time for a report in Earthmovers in addition to visiting a training venue where one of these machines is being put to good use training the next generation of plant operators. Photo courtesy of Finnish Takeuchi dealer Honkatrading. At the moment there are not many videos of the new TB2150R on the internet but I came across this short clip of a guy attempting to climb a heap of stone with one.
