Single engine scraper woes

Large single engine motor scrapers can be a real pain if the conditions are not good. The Cat 651E’s in this video are clearly struggling in the wet conditions and become almost helpless without the assistance of D11N to give them some grunt from behind. The struggle isn’t over once they are loaded as you will see in the challenging conditions.

It would be interesting to see how the Caterpillar 651’s twin engine variant the mighty 657 would have coped on this ground, but I suspect even they would need a shove from behind. We thank Scott at Pushysix for posting this video and allowing us to share it.
