The Future is Orange for Champion Groundworks

Champion Groundworks is one of largest and most-respected groundworks contractors in the South West, working for a large number of national blue-chip housing developers and today employs in excess of 350 employees working across sites in Cornwall and Devon. The business along with its plant hire and scaffolding divisions generates an annual turnover of £70 million.

The new Hitachi excavators which consist of 4 x Zaxis 130LC-6, 4 x Zaxis 210LC-6 and 1 x Zaxis 250LC-6 have been supplied and will be serviced by newly established company JAW Hire who are also based in Liskeard. The company have forged an exciting partnership with Hitachi Construction Machinery UK to deliver Hitachi products into the South West of the country.

The company has historically run a mixed fleet of manufacturers machines over the years, but the investment in Hitachi is seen as an exciting prospect for the company and the operators who will get to run these machines on site.

Talking about their decision to purchase Hitachi, Managing Director Fred Champion said, “It’s fantastic to have invested in such a well-known brand and we look forward to seeing the machines out on site”.

Talking about organising the deal, delivering the machines and their part in the partnership with Hitachi, Managing Director of JAW Hire Ltd Will Evans said, "We are delighted to have secured the deal with Fred Champion Groundworks and to be working with a fantastic brand in Hitachi and are very excited about the future”.

Hitachi Construction Machinery UK’s National Director of Sales Mark Turnham said, "We are delighted to have formed this partnership with JAW and with their local knowledge we are looking forward to increased sales of Hitachi equipment within the region”.

With the new machines now being delivered to the contractors active sites, the future is definitely looking orange for Fred Champion Groundworks.
