Volvo connectivity milestone

Swedish construction equipment manufacturer Volvo recently handed over its one-millionth CareTrack-equipped machine. Four excavators with the built-in telematics system were delivered to Danish rental company GSV Materieludlejning earlier this month.

Caretrack works by capturing thousands of machine data points, which are then monitored remotely in a Volvo Uptime Center by dedicated experts. These experts then use state-of-the-art diagnostic software to process huge amounts of data in real-time and filter back to the customer and dealer only the most essential information. Armed with this data, wear on parts can be predicted, allowing services to be planned and new components ordered in advance.

The four machines handed over to GSV included one EC220EL excavator, two EC250EL excavators and one ECR235EL excavator, all equipped with Volvo CareTrack.
