Volvo Construction Equipment Operators Club at Plantworx 2013

Volvo Construction Equipment GB have today released a great video round up of their hugely successful Three Station Challenge competition, which took place last month at the inaugural Plantworx show, which took place at Stoneleigh, in Warwickshire. Plantworx was also the launch platform for the company’s new Volvo Operators Club, which is an exclusive club aimed at all construction plant operators in the UK. Those who have so far taken the opportunity to sign up, myself included, will have received a free Volvo Operators Club baseball cap, window stickers, and an official membership card, which also entitles the owner to a 10% discount on merchandise purchased from the Volvo merchandise website. Those who signed up before and during the show, were invited to take part in the beat the clock style challenge on the Volvo stand, with the incentive of a trip to the European Final to compete against other top operators from around Europe in Germany this coming September.
The three challenges consisted of Block Buster, Hanging About and The Simulator. The winner with a fantastic time of 2 minutes 55 seconds was Phillip Port of Collins Earthworks Ltd., with the runner up being Chris Charlton of R Collard, in an equally fast time of 3 minutes and 3 seconds. We wish Phillip and Chris all the very best in Germany later this year. I look forward to covering the final here on the Digger Man Blog.
