Hill Engineering, who is one of the UK National Champions in the European Business Awards - Innovation category, is now competing for the title of ‘National Public Champion’ in the public vote Video Entry stage of the competition. The European Business Awards recognises and rewards excellence, best practice and innovation in companies across the European Union. The competition is open to organisations of all sizes and from any industry sector. Established in 1994, last year Hill Engineering celebrated 20-years of designing and manufacturing pioneering excavator attachments. The company’s quick couplers are designed for excavators ranging from 3 to 120 tonnes. The company is best known for its award winning fully automatic coupler TEFRA, which has transformed health and safety on construction sites around the world.  TEFRA has proved itself to be the safest coupler on the market today. Patented by Hill, the TEFRA is exported across three continents globally.  You’ll find TEFRA users in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Over recent years the company has continued to form strategic alliances with major OEM brands including Hitachi, Volvo and Kubota to name but a few.  Takeuchi is another keen supporter of the Hill coupler, with their customers specifying Hill Engineering’s TEFRA as their preferred brand of quick coupler. The latest innovations from Hill Engineering are the new TEFRA Tilt Coupler and the new TiltRotate – these attachments are set to take the coupler market by storm in 2015. These new couplers take all the advantages of the TEFRA Coupler and have the added benefit of increased productivity and versatility in multiple applications. Hill is also involved in the development of new legislation to improve coupler safety - ISO 13031 – this legislation is set to be rolled out world-wide in the near future. In just three years (2011-2014) Hill’s sales revenue grew by a staggering 150% with employee numbers increasing by 70%.  These impressive figures are largely due to the introduction of the TEFRA product.
