A Quick trim-up with Machine Serve

Open day events have become a popular feature at Yanmar dealership Machine Serve, who are based at Chulmleigh near Winkleigh, Devon. The latest edition was largely focused flail mowers from Italian manufacturer Ghedini and we popped along to take a look.

A Quick trim-up with Machine Serve

The informal open days held by Phil Davey and his Machine Serve team have always proven to be well attended and deals are often done on the day. The formula is simple and well proven, lay on some pasties and drinks and then head out into the yard to view the kit.

There simply is no substitute for showing products in action, and for customers and potential customers to get on and try the kit before they actually invest in the product.

Ghedini flail mowers and other attachments made by the company who are based in the north eastern town of Santa Maria Codifiume in Italy, are well respected across the industry. The company was founded in 1984 and make a wide range of attachments for excavators, backhoe loaders, skid steers and tractors.

At least five Yanmar mini excavators were displayed of varying sizes with compatible sized Ghedini mowers fitted, all of which could be tried out by visitors on request.

A couple of business owners had come specifically to take a look at the smallest combination on display, a Ghedini DA54 (480 cut) mower, mounted on the sub-one tonne Yanmar SV08.

Phil took the machine out on the lane to demonstrate its capabilities, as you can see in the video below.
