Bauma look back 2013

Not many more weeks left now until Bauma 2016 opens its doors and as anticipation grows, in this post I thought I would take a look at some of the more unusual things I spotted at the last show in 2013.

Bauma look back 2013
German manufacturer Holp demonstrated its Roto Top rotation attachment for excavators. For those that prefer an option to the full blown tilt-rotator concept this could be a cheaper idea. I expect to these being displayed again at this year’s show. 018 It’s not very often we feature anything that’s not earthmoving related here on the Digger Man Blog but this self-loading concrete mixer from Italian company D’Avino caught my eye last time around. This I believe is the only one of its kind to feature a 360 degree slewing upper-structure making it very flexible for discharging its load into trenches. The wheeled machine even sports a light duty dozer blade. 090 Another Italian company displaying their machines was Venieri SPA who were showing a number of examples from their wheeled loader and backhoe loader ranges including this 1.33B mini backhoe loader which competes with the likes of the JCB 1CX and Hidromeks HMK62 SS. 135 A number of amphibious excavator manufacturers were to be found around the vast outdoor showground including models for Dutch firm Waterking who displayed this WK80 model based on a Doosan machine. 181 Not seen in the UK market Turkish manufacturer Cukurova showed an example from their backhoe loader range the 885. 223 On German rental firm Nagel’s stand there was a fine restoration of an early Liebherr L 300 wheeled excavator which sadly was up high on a plinth so photography opportunities were not great. Always interesting to see old kit like this and wonder how on earth did they dig or grade with such a tiny dipper arm? 273 One wonders what other delights will be greeting us as visitors this year, mind you the way things are going on social media at the moment, we will have seen everything they have to show us so it won’t be worth attending! 346 But Bauma is the greatest show on earth so you wouldn’t want to miss out on all that walking, Bavarian beer and strange sausages to eat would you?
