Cost Effective Rebuild
I have been lucky enough to have witnessed a few Cat Certified Rebuilds over the years of working on this blog, and it never ceases to amaze me just how they turn these machines around and get them back to near factory finish condition.
One that sticks in my mind was a Caterpillar waste compactor that was in the process of being rebuilt during a visit to the Leeds branch of Finning UK & Ireland back in 2018. It was incredible to see the attention to detail during these Certified Rebuild procedures and the quality of the finish really is a sight to see.

Well, the team at Leeds have been involved in another project more recently with a Certified Powertrain and Hydraulic rebuild of a Cat 988K wheeled loading shovel that has put in a lot of hard work for Finning customer British Steel having amassed around 17,000 hours on the meter during its first working life from new.
Finning have produced a short video that tells the story on why British Steel decided to opt for a Certified Rebuild programme, and documents the work that was done with timelapse footage, a fantastic video which you can checkout below.
