Digger’s weekly social media round up #20

Taking a look back now at some of the highlights of the Digger Man Blogs social media activity and interaction with our readers and members from the past week.

Digger’s weekly social media round up #20
The Digger Man Blog's week on social media kicked off with a cracking photo posted by Case backhoe loader operator Vic Wadling. The 10 o'clock tea time shot depicted a great view across the Exe Estuary. This is one of the great pleasures of working on sites, especially those that have stunning views like this one. Vic’s post prompted a few of the other members to pop on their own cab views too. Check out the thread here.  15016297_10209012604330503_6222282659361609189_o Another interesting post this week came via Phil Dalby of Leeds based Phil Dalby Excavation Services. Phil posted a video explaining the virtues of his latest investment, a new 2D Trimble Flex system which has been fitted to his Takeuchi TB230 by SITECH. Clearly very relaxed in front of the camera Phil explains in layman’s terms just how the system works. If you missed the post, why not check it out here. img_1711 Colin Richardson posted a photo featuring a couple of toy diggers strapped on the back of a low loader which prompted a whole host of comments and “banter” from readers. This seems to be a bit of a common sight these days, only last week I was heading up the M5 and I passed a low loader kitted out in the same way. I would have loved to have taken a photo but with the current crack down on holding a mobile phone while driving I figured it wasn’t the brightest idea! Check out the thread here. img_1712 It’s always a great feeling when you get your hands on a brand new piece of kit and that is exactly what Tom Chapman did earlier this week when he took delivery of his new mount a shiny Caterpillar 352F hydraulic excavator. Naturally Tom who works for Warwickshire based Paul Chapman Ltd, was keen to post photos of his machine on the Digger Man Blog. You can check out Tom’s new Cat by clicking on this link. 15085671_10153973271967109_2087217270117222222_n Blog reader Steve Handley has just returned from a 3 day break in Poland and while he was out there spotted this old Schaeff HML 31 “rubber duck”. Schaeff were bought out by Terex and the brand disappeared from the market but there was a time when they were a common sight on UK sites for a while. It’s always good to see readers digger related holiday snaps, a feature that used to be very popular on the blog in the early years, but with everyone doing social media these days I do receive as many as I used to sadly. Check out Steve’s photos here.   15156778_10211797787839237_5494891497207224896_o Something very topical for this time of year is the issue of leaves on the track or the wrong kind of leaves or snow for that matter. With that in mind blog reader Chris Meek posted a humorous photo simply entitled couldn’t work today, check it out and have a good laugh at some of the comments by clicking on this link. 15135871_10157785013485646_2695097057101374068_n Finally this week, I always loved digging a good footing and it’s good to see a nice job done. This morning I was delighted to see this epic effort which has been dug by Felix Ottey using a Takeuchi TB290. It looks like it’s going to be a busy day with the concreting today! Check out this smart job here.  15078552_10154844957893777_1775797699575505593_n That's it for another week here on the Digger Man Blog, see you back here on Monday.
