Digger’s weekly social media round up #7

Taking a look back now at some of the highlights of the Digger Man Blogs social media activity and interaction with our readers and members.

Digger’s weekly social media round up #7
Proving that Digger Man Blog members have a good sense of humour Jeremy Smith posted this piece of photoshopped art work which cast’s doubt on the quality of operators these days! The picture which features a monkey in the cab of a Komatsu excavator was apparently first created by Owen Senior, and has since been doing the rounds on the 100’s of plant and machinery pages that have sprung up on Facebook in recent years.  The post attracted some 25 comments and you can join the fun by taking a look at the post here. 13934910_10210308566088461_479399491460107843_n Craig Bell posted a photo of his latest new toy a grading beam from Lammar Engineering which he described as a brilliant bit of kit! The Scandinavian concept often raises a few eyebrows from old school operators and in the past year or so we have witnessed some heated debates about the idea. My opinion on it all is that if it works for you and you and your customers are happy with it, then it can only be a good thing. Of course the concept is really only any good underneath a tilt-rotator or at the very least a tilting hitch, see what you think and join the discussion here. 13907075_10210820292088402_7278518947611359678_n Karl White’s post featuring a Hitachi excavator which had been well and truly bogged is the kind of post that would have the “clean cab OCD brigade” having a complete nightmare. This post attracted 37 comments from horrified readers and some who were up for a bit of the “Craic”. Take a look at the post here and see what you think.  13906812_10207477983004610_7674635275830677451_n Old excavators have featured quite a lot on the stand alone Digger Man Blog page this week with posts featuring Hitachi, Caterpillar and Hymac. On the Facebook page we had a number of old machine post’s too, such is the interest in the old kit. James Currie posted this shot of a 1972 model Priestman Mustang 120 which has been sat in a Scottish forest for over 10 years. Apparently the machine fired up straight away on receipt of a new battery! But fortunately Chris received some solid advice from the majority of readers on the Facebook page. Every day is a school day in life and we never stop learning, even those who think they know it all! I know that a lot of the members on our page seek advice about all sorts of topics from the many experienced industry professionals that grace the page, which is great for the Digger Man Blog community in general.  Take a look and join the discussion here. 14067570_965293763616758_4853359401560710348_n That's it for this weeks round up of hot topics on the Digger Man Blog social media channels. Have a great weekend and we'll see you back on the blog next week.
