Liebherr Based Tracked Dumper Looks Familiar

I came across this video over the weekend on Bummbummkarl’s You Tube channel, and it brought back memories of a similar machine we saw way back in 2010 at the Bauma Trade Fair in Munich.

Liebherr Based Tracked Dumper Looks Familiar

The long-established German family based civil engineering business Wilhelm Haddick GmbH & Co. KG has a history for creating heavyweight tracked haulers, which they call a Raupen Transporter (Tracked Transporter) in English.

The tracked transporter is designed to transport heavy loads across difficult terrain. Its empty weight is approximately 28 tons with a ground pressure of 0.29 kg/cm². The payload capacity is up to 30 tonnes.

The total weight is therefore approximately 58 tons, with a very low ground pressure of 0.61 kg/cm². This very low ground pressure allows this unique machine to carry heavy loads on sensitive soils.

Previous versions have been based on a Caterpillar 963 tracked loader with extra long track carriage, and a dozer blade at the skip end to enable the machine to level the tipped load eliminating the need for a dozer at the tip area.

The example in this video footage is based on a Liebherr PR 736 dozer and has been designated the model number TR5820 by Haddick. The rare tracked dumper is seen in action here at a German clay pit which looks to be soft and heavy going for the lumbering big machine.

The comments section makes for some interesting reading, as we know all to well, everyone is an expert on the internet! My view is that if it works for the end users and they believe in the concept, then that’s fine, although personally I would have to say there are better options available out there from the likes of Morooka, Prinoth and Takeuchi, although they would not compete in terms of tonnage shifted in one go.

Checkout the video and see what you all think of it!
