Royal Cornwall Show Machinery Highlights (Part Five) Best of the Rest
Rounding off our coverage of the Royal Cornwall Show 2026 with a look around some of the other stands we visited during our time there.
I think it’s safe to say, this year the show was largely dominated by exhibits from the MJL Group, who had some special surprises for visitors as they celebrated 25 years in business.
On the new local Cat Compact dealers stand Rundle & Co Agri, they had a new 8-tonne class Cat 308 CR in the more usual Caterpillar livery, but there was another stunning looking 308 lurking elsewhere on the showground.

In celebration of their 25th anniversary MJL Group actually had their own stand this year, and it was here that we discovered another new 308 which had been wrapped in the distinctive red, and black livery by Tavistock based specialists Tavy Signs, who are the same people who wrapped my car. There were examples of their professional work all around the showground, and one can imagine it had been a manic period for them in the run up to the show!

There was more colour coded MJL Group machinery on the M&M Plant (Devon & Cornwall) stand with a stunning CASE CX210E. Readers of this blog may recall that at last years show they had a largely all black example on the stand, but I think this theme looks so much better.

Kubota next, and a visit to the Vincents Tractors stand, where a fine pair of Kubota KX085-5 machines formed an impressive archway entrance to the plot, these two machines were heading for Liskeard based businesses Champion Groundworks and JAW Plant Hire straight after the show.

Devon based Royal Cornwall Show regular’s Machine Serve, were located in their regular spot and had a large range of Yanmar machines on display and other examples of equipment from their portfolio of products, which now also includes Multi-One compact loaders. This Yanmar SV60 displayed with a Ghedini flail mower caught my eye.

There was two Sany dealers present at this year’s show, Cornish based Truro Tractors, who we have visited quite some time ago for Earthmovers Magazine. And the more recently appointed Okehampton based South West Handling who are covering Devon & Somerset.

On their stand we spotted the 15-tonne class SY155U Zero tailswing offering, which was dwarfing the 1-tonne class SY10U which is also a zero tailswing offering. Regional Sales Manager Lee Blewett reported strong sales of the Chinese manufactured machines across the territory.
Specialist hire business E.J Fry & Son presented examples from their diverse range of equipment and motor vehicles, and naturally my eyes were drawn to the converted Takeuchi TCR50-2, with Palfinger telescopic crane, one of many examples on their hire fleet that are used by utility companies up and down the country.

Just next door we stumbled up the team at Underground Solutions, another business we have featured in Earthmovers Magazine in the past, who were delighted to show us their latest investment, the Vermeer RTX1250 ride on trencher/rock wheel, an impressive piece of kit and definitely not something you see every day for sure.

Plymouth based multi-faceted recycling business RIG displayed their new JCB 220XLC hydraulic excavator, this is another business that we are planning to visit in the future for a potential article in Earthmovers Magazine.

Finally, we ended up on the JAW Plant Hire Stand, where we took a look around yet another VAC-Ex lorry that has joined the fleet, which I believe now stands at 10-strong. Next month I am going to spending some time with one of these trucks just to experience what they are all about and to find out just why they are becoming so popular.
