Volvo’s short swing duck fits the bill

Amongst a raft of exciting new large machines that will be launched by Volvo Construction Equipment at Bauma next month,  there will be smaller wheeled excavators including the EW60E and EWR150E which are sure to catch the interest of visitors to the stand.

Volvo’s short swing duck fits the bill
The new EWR150E wheeled excavator slots nicely into the range between 14 tonne and 16 tonne class machines, offering end users a 15 tonne capacity machine which is capable of working in narrow lanes and congested sites that would normally require a 14 tonne class machine or smaller. Combined with Volvo construction Equipment's preferred tilt-rotator system from Steelwrist, this makes the machine the ideal choice for working on motorway projects and the like when working within a single lane closure for example. The short swing radius design means that you can take on jobs which a conventional excavator cannot, such as within a single lane of a road or in confined construction sites. The short radius design also allows the operator to work in greater ease, comfort and safety for a safer and more productive performance. I suspect we will see this machine demonstrated on Volvo’s extensive outdoor plot during Bauma, configured in the familiar Swedish style with a trailer mounted on the rear, displaying the flexibility of being able to carry your work tools to the job site in one self contained unit.
