Cat’s tackle sticky Norwegian blue clay

There is no denying the fact that we don’t get sent as many photos as we used to here on the blog, I guess this is due in part to the fact that everyone now uses Facebook to put their pics in the spotlight, myself included. I came across these photos the other day on the aforementioned social media platform and figured they were worth a share on the Digger Man Blog pages.

This crop of photos taken in 2012 I believe, was originally shared to another machinery Facebook page Awesome Operators by Trond Fremming who is as I understand it is a Norwegian dozer operator. The shots show a Caterpillar D6R dozer which appears to have become stuck in some notoriously treacherous blue clay in the Gjerdrum area in Norway. img_1447 From the photo it looks as if the Cat D10R which Trond was operating might have been heading for the same fate as he tried to give the little D6R a nudge, but it’s unclear if he had become stuck or not. Hopefully he will catch this post and let us know the outcome! img_1448 From the view I am getting I would say that both machines are pretty well bogged in and would not have got out without some assistance from other machines. img_1449 The blue clay looks like some fine material for making pots and ceramics, but it does look like the kind of stuff you would need to keep a wide berth from when operating machinery on it! img_1450 The Digger Man Blog would like to thank Trond Fremming for sharing these excellent photos.
