Digger’s weekly social media round up #6

Time now for our regular weekly look back at some of the hot topics on our ever expanding and popular social media channels.

Digger’s weekly social media round up #6
Earlier this week Digger Man blog Facebook page member Ollie Drewett post a photo of his laser levelling digging device which is mounted on the dipper of what looks like an 8 tonne midi excavator. These simple set ups and more advanced systems are the way ahead with even old school generations coming around to the idea, why not take a look and see what you think by clicking on this link.   13770323_1058031167577445_7424132258064090287_n Staffordshire based JCB’s new 6 tonne class mini excavator offering the 57 C-1 received a glowing review from blog member Tom Ball last week describing it as “The best machine I've drove for a long time it's better than all the rest of that size”. What do you think? Have your say by joining the discussion here.   13987414_182660208819655_4807878918888234370_o Blog reader Kevin John has recently been on holiday to Spain and like any genuine plant man on holiday, he couldn’t fail to spot the odd bit of plant and machinery lying around. I have come across some real gems on my tours abroad and Kevin has found some rare items in this batch too, like this Fiat Allis backhoe loader, a model which was never imported into the UK. Take a look at the thread by following this link. 13995467_334568236880669_5869372941688071792_o Many of us enjoy seeing the “old kit” and reader Jonathan Farndell is no different and he very kindly shared and album from the excellent German Facebook page Historische Baumaschinen which features 298 photos of classic O&K machines from years gone by. There are some fantastic plant & machinery pages on Facebook now and with many online forums and the like dying a natural death it’s now seen as a great place to be sharing photos and information. Check out this thread here. 561682_384113834999839_76556908_n Finally this week ,one from my good self which generated a lot of interest when posted yesterday following my visit to see Jim and Dean Davies stunning fully restored Hymac 580C hydraulic excavator in Blackwood South Wales. It’s an area that is synonymous with the Hymac brand as the machines used to be produced in nearby Rhymney and it’s great to see this machine preserved for future generations to see, join the discussion here and look out for a blog post on the machine next week. 13912439_1751594011764100_573024939528973897_n Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you all back on the Digger Man Blog next week.
