Dynamic Doosan at Bauma

Doosan presented what I felt was their largest display ever at Bauma which included its own demonstration arena.

Dynamic Doosan at Bauma

The Korean manufacturer presented a massive range of products with many of them getting their premiere, among them was the new 100-tonne class DX1000LC-7 crawler excavator. The 95 to 100-tonne class sector is really competitive recently with most major brands offering an example.

Doosan claim that the DX1000LC-7 offers best in class performance, with the highest hydraulic flow available for this class sector, enabling higher productivity and lower fuel consumption. The machine is powered by a Stage V emissions compliant Perkins 6-cylinder engine offering a power output rating of 469kw (629hp) @2000rpm, the most powerful engine in this class sector.

The spacious cab features all the refinements and creature comforts that adorn the entire Dash-7 series, that regular Doosan operators will be familiar with.

The machine was statically displayed with another Bauma debutant the all new DA45-7 4x4 articulated dumptruck. Designed as a more mobile competitor to traditional rigid dumptrucks in the 40-tonne class sector, the DA45-7 uses well proven components from the original 6x6 models in the Doosan range.

At the smaller end of the scale was the new DX20ZE, a 2-tonne class zero-tailswing electric mini excavator. The machine was sporting an eco friendly green livery, but this was only for the benefit of the show, apparently production models will be produced in the more familiar Doosan orange paintwork.

There were also a wide range of new mini and midi excavators also on display, which I will be covering in my Earthmovers Magazine report in due course.

The demonstration was very interesting as they displayed a DX225LC-7 hydraulic excavator being operated remotely with nobody in the operator’s seat which was kind of mind blowing. The operator was using teleoperation from inside the booth, an operation that could be viewed on a large screen, he later came out to run the machine conventionally from the seat.

Checkout some highlights from the show below.
