Hyundai “Go Large” at Bauma 2022

One of our favourite booths at the Bauma Trade Fair over the years, has always been the Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE) stand, where a warm welcome was always assured for the travelling British press and online social media community.

Hyundai “Go Large” at Bauma 2022

A new PR team are now working with the South Korean giant, bringing in new ideas and new faces, so we are looking forward to engaging with them this time around in Munich.

Hyundai’s stand space this year will be 30% larger than in previous Bauma’s but will still be located in its regular space adjacent to the Liebherr stand. Dominating the stand on static display we expect to see the 90-tonne class HX900L which was also a focal point last time around in 2019.

Technology is playing an ever-increasing role in construction and construction machinery these days, and central to Hyundai’s display this time will be a Technology Zone. According to Hyundai CE the company’s stand will showcase Hyundai’s position as a technology leader, with a clear roadmap to a cleaner, safer and more productive construction site, whatever the industry sector.

As I focus quite a lot on compact machinery, I am looking forward to a look over the first three all-new A-Series next-generation mini excavator models (HX35Az, HX40A, HX48Az) which were announced as winners of the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in the product design category.

We also expect an appearance from Hyundai’s recently launched HA45A articulated hauler which was shown in public for the first-time during Hillhead earlier this year.

As part of their focus on the future, Hyundai will also demonstrate its latest electric machinery, alongside a preview of a hydrogen fuel cell-powered wheeled excavator.

However, the company is not simply creating new equipment. Through its connections with other businesses within the wider Hyundai global group, HCE is working to develop the infrastructure and service back-up, that will be required to operate the next generation of construction machinery.

Future technology will be the central focus across the stand, under the Hyundai Connect umbrella brand. This will include dedicated areas to showcase Hi-Site planning and surveying connected technology, Hi-Assist 2D and 3D machine guidance and control, Hi-Detect intelligent operative safety systems and Hi-Care telematic machine monitoring and fleet management technology.

Visitors to the stand can also expect to see social media sensations The Digger Girl and Lord Muck who I believe will be making regular appearances during the show.
