Hyundai sends excavators to Ecuador
Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world’s biggest shipbuilder and a leading construction equipment manufacturer, recently provided four 21-ton excavators through its local dealer to Canoa and Esmeraldas in Ecuador, which was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of over 500 people and injuries to over 7,000 people.
The excavators HHI provided to the earthquake-stricken country have already been put to work, rebuilding roads and cleaning up the debris of the many collapsed buildings.

A Hyundai spokesman said, “As a responsible corporate citizen in countries where HHI operates, this aid effort is in line with the support rendered to flood-stricken Brazil, earthquake-hit Qinghai, China, Port-au-Prince, Haiti and Nepal”. HHI exports construction equipment to about 30 countries in Latin America.
