JCB’s Hydradig wows the crowds at Bauma

After many months of hype and anticipation the public got their first chance to see the revolutionary new JCB Hydradig at the Bauma trade fair in Munich.

JCB’s Hydradig wows the crowds at Bauma
The machine which has been developed in secrecy for 3 years was without doubt the showstopper on the JCB stand, which was busy every time that I passed by with hordes of people all keen to get a closer look at the machine which many, myself included, have described as an industry “game changer”. DSC_0149 As one might expect two examples of the new machine were even deployed into the dancing digger display team for which JCB have become famous around the world. DSC_0192   Interest was high around the show with many I spoke to asking me what it is like to operate and raising the question of when they can try one on demonstration. This is just the start of something very big for JCB in my opinion and I look forward to seeing more variants of this concept over the coming years. DSC_0135 Other highlights for me on the JCB stand were the new JZ140LC a 14 tonne class zero tailswing hydraulic excavator which has recently been brought back into the range following demand from customers. DSC_0205 Also traditional wheeled excavators were represented with this fine of the JS145W in its Plus Pack configuration and also featuring the TAB boom which continues to gain popularity with “rubber duck” end users. DSC_0204 Another machine of interest was the 200,000th Loadall telescopic handler to roll off the production line since the product was introduced to the range in 1977. The machine was displayed in a dramatic looking livery celebrating this milestone achievement. DSC_0201 If the buzz around the stand is anything to go by, it’s going to be a very busy year for the British manufacturer who once again proudly flew the flag for Great Britain in Munich.
