Machinery Show Reaches for the Sky

Now that some resemblance of normal life is happening post pandemic, it’s a delight to see that construction equipment and machinery shows are coming back thick and fast, the latest being the Vertikal Days which took place last week at the East of England Showground in Peterborough.

Machinery Show Reaches for the Sky

Its fair to say that cranes and access equipment are not items of plant that really float my boat, however, they are essential pieces of kit in their own fields, and I feel it’s only right that we feature some of the highlights from the show here on the Digger Man Blog.

Having not long been back from my assignment in Finland, I was not able to make to the show myself, but my good friends and Construction Collective colleagues Mark Anthony and his son Freddie, did attend and have kindly shared some material with us for the first day on Wednesday 11th May.

In somewhat typical style for shows taking place at this venue, day one was a rather wet affair, but it didn’t deter the visiting industry professionals one bit, all keen for a much-missed face to face contact with manufacturers and dealers alike.

Liebherr had a number of items from their impressive crane range on the stand including the LR 1110 which has 110 tonnes lifting capacity.

Grove also brought along a massive 5-axle mobile crane which has been sold to Sheffield based crane rental company Wolffkran Ltd.

JCB were presenting more of its electric product range including the 525-60E telehandler and examples form its battery powered scissor lift range.

There was more electric powered kit from Italian manufacturer Faresin, in the form of its 626 Full Electric telescopic handler, one of which I’m hoping to get “hands-on” with in the not too distant future.

Checkout Mark and Freddie’s walk around video from the day.
