Volvo CE take on the Jerusalema Dance Challenge

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, in recent months, you've probably seen, or at least heard of the Jerusalema challenge by now.

Volvo CE take on the Jerusalema Dance Challenge

During these emotionally challenging times we are all living through, we all need some inspiration to get us through the weeks and months ahead in the hope that our lives will get back to some form of normality real soon.

To rise spirits and get much needed exercise too, many people around the world have been taking part in the Jerusalema Challenge, where they and their friends take part in the dance, create a video of themselves and upload it to social media platforms, like Tik Tok, Facebook and Instagram and tag their friends, family or co-workers to challenge them to do the dance next.

This dance trend began in February of last year, when Fenómenos do Semba, a group in Angola, south-west Africa, recorded themselves dancing to the Zulu language inspired song, while eating and without dropping their plates.

To cut a long story short, the dance started going viral almost immediately, before exploding into the mainstream of the western world in early 2021, but most people still copy the moves seen in Fenómenos do Semba's original video.

Now our dear friends over at the Volvo Construction Equipment facility in Eskilstuna, have taken up the challenge and produced a cracking video filmed at the fantastic customers centre in Sweden, featuring not only the guys and girls dancing, but also integrating the Volvo machines into the routine, looking resplendent in the snowy Swedish winter, and for the dancers, a great way to keep warm by the look of things!

It really is inspirational stuff, and that’s why I'm delighted to post it here on the Digger Man Blog, enjoy!
