The construction machinery industry gave us plenty to talk about in November. There were some mean machines in action at Wembley stadium in London, Statom Group treated itself to a big fleet of new Kobelcos, and JCB and Merlo pushed even harder into the electric machine market with new, zero emissions kit. Elsewhere, news came that CITB was offloading a training site to Walsall College, which should mean good things for industry training going forwards, and Doosan teamed up with Leica to offer ready kits for semi-automous excavator operation...

5) KOMATSU PC88MR-11 MIDI-EXCAVATOR

A more efficienct Stage 5 engine and increased operational capabilties for Komatsu's successor to its MR-10 midi-excavator. Read more.

 

6) NEW ELECTRIC JCB COMPACTS

The British manufacturer unveiled an exciting line up of new, battery-powered compacts, including a telescopic loader and dumper, plus a new cab design for its electric 19C-1E mini. Read more.

Two- and four-wheel drive variants of Merlo's new electric e-Worker telehandler promise to deliver impressive performance in super quiet, zero emissions fashion. Read more.

 

8) HITACHI WHEEL LOADERS FOR JACK MOODY GROUP

Four ZW180-6, four ZW250-6 and two ZW180-6 high lift Hitachi machines for Jack Moody Group based in Wolverhampton, intended for use across multiple sites. Read more.

 

9) WALSALL COLLEGE TO BUY CITB FACILITY

Wallsall College acquires training facility from CITB and hope to offer even more opportunities to those wishing to work in the construction industry, among many other sectors. Read more.

 

10) DOOSAN OFFERED WITH READY KIT FOR LEICA SYSTEM

Doosan DX255LC-5 excavator options list now includes a ready kit for the 2D/3D semi-automation system from Leica Geosystems. Read more.

 

EARTHMOVERS MAGAZINE: NOVEMBER 2020 ISSUE

In this magazine, we test Caterpillar's new 432 backhoe and meet Shannon Valley Group’s 70-tonne Hitachi 690LCR Dash 7 excavator – the first of its kind in Europe.
